Table Tennis Touch captures all the fun of ping-pong with none of the humiliation.

I suck at table tennis. Like, it’s embarrassing.

I’m alright at serving, and I can usually return, but if anyone smashes at all or puts any spin on the ball, I fold faster than a laundry robot. I still like the idea of table tennis, though, which is why I’m glad we have video-game versions.

And Table Tennis Touch, which is out now for all of your iOS devices, is easily the best one I’ve ever played.

Table Tennis Touch has pretty graphics, simple controls, a lot of variety, and all the options you need to make yourself comfortable. If you’re not working on your career by competing in tournaments, you have a lot of minigames you can play for fun and experience.

The side games include a mode that has you return balls into specific zones and a pretty fun version of bowling that has you knocking as many pins over as you can within a time period. Succeeding helps you unlock more games and gives you valuable practice.

You can also play quick games against computer opponents, and they all have their own personalities. Some are power players, some just love spin, and others are more rounded. You get to know the “characters,” and you know what to expect when they come up in the rotation.

It’s crazy immersive, and the game is an all-around impressive achievement.Screen Shot 2014-04-18 at 10.25.35 PM

Is Monument Valley The Most Visually Stunning iOS Game Of The Year?

Screen Shot 2014-04-04 at 10.46.22 PM

The year might only be three months old but there’s already a contender for ‘most visually striking iOS game of 2014.’

Launched today, Monument Valley looks to combine the gameplay of hit indie game Fez with the brain-twisting art of M.C. Escher.

As can be seen from the above trailer it looks stunningly beautiful, and with developers Ustwo (the team responsible for Whale Trail and Blip Blup) behind it, hopefully the gameplay will be every bit as great. The trailer depicts Princess Ida climbing through landscapes of shifting geometric shapes, optical illusions, and hidden paths — all the while avoiding and outsmarting the enigmatic Crow People.

Designer Ken Wong calls it “a beautiful, exploratory experience, somewhere between exploring a toy shop and reading The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.”

Monument Valley is available for newer iPads, iPhones, and iPod touches. It costs $3.99.

Was it warmer or colder last year?

Does what it says; compares the temp to this time last year. It’s free and you can do some In-App purchases to unlock other panels like Rain weather etc etc. Only awkward thing is the Celsius update is in progress, so our Metric readers be patient 🙂

Compatibility: Requires iOS 7.0 or later.
